In commemoration with December 10th (Human Rights Day), the world’s largest letter-writing event will swing into full gear, generating a tidal wave of letters and cards for the shared cause of protecting human rights. During Write for Rights, communities all over the world will come together to send a powerful message in defense of human rights. People in any community can work from home to promote human rights and free prisoners of conscience. The Global Write-a-thon is a great way for individuals to have a positive impact on the lives of people experiencing human rights abuses around the world. From Michigan to Mali to Morocco, activists around the world will stand up for human rights during the Write for Rights event. They will raise their voices in solidarity with those whom authorities would like to see silenced. Anywhere people gather – human rights activism can flourish.
Join the Criminal Justice Graduate Student Association (CJGSA) on December 2, 2010 to begin the week of Human Rights Activism.
