Our topic for discussion will be Planning for Kentucky's Energy Future. This is designed to educate us to prepare us for our upcoming study we will be discussing about Kentucky's energy policy. Our panelists will be:

Cheryl Bruner, Director of Customer Energy Efficiency for E.ON US (the Louisville-based company that owns Kentucky Utilities & LG&E. In this roles she is responsible for the strategy, planning, implementation, operations and evaluation of all customer energy efficiency programs. Her company serves as the gas and/or electric utility for nearly one million customers in KY and VA.

Geoffrey Young is a MA native and received degrees from MIT, U Mass at Amherst and UK. He worked for 13 years in the Energy Department of University of Kentucky state government, focusing on energy efficiency and utility company regulations. He works with several volunteer groups including Kentuckians for the Commonwealth and the Sierra Club.

Cheryl Taylor is Lexington's first Environmental Quality Commissioner. Previously she served as Commissioners of the KY department for Environmental Protection. She holds degrees in mechanical engineering and social work from the University of Kentucky.
Usually we hold our annual fundraising auction in December, but this year we will be holding it in conjunction with our November Dinner & Democracy meeting. This silent auction is a major fundraiser for League. Proceeds will go to the League's Education fund unless you specify other wise. Come and do some early holiday shopping.
Dinner is at 6:00 p.m. with a program to follow. The cost is $10, half of which is considered a donation. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Reservations are needed. Call 859-494-3203. When you make reservations, please advise as to whether you are donating an item for the silent auction.
