$5 Registration for race & dance
DETAILS:
KFTC and Seedleaf are putting on a bike race/square dance fundraiser.
The details are as follows: anyone interested in participating in the bike race should come to the London Ferrell community garden on the corner of 3rd St and Elm Tree Lane to register. It costs $5 to race and we're encouraging folks to wear their best square dance attire (there will be prizes!).
BIKE RACE:
All riders, bikes, and experience levels welcome. Prizes for first place and best dressed.
The cyclists will then be given a list of social justice check points that they have to hit downtown. Among those include AVOL, the BRCC, the Council for Peace and Justice, Moveable Feast and Mountain Justice.
At each checkpoint they will have a volunteer from the participating organization mark that they were there - and give them information about their work (i.e. pamphlets and info on how they can volunteer, donate etc.)
DANCE:
After the race folks will return to garden for a good old fashion square dance. Julie Sheperd Powell will call the dance with a house band. Expect only good people, good people and supporting great organizations.
SPONSORS:
Kentuckians for the Commonwealth
