$15 - 30 Adults (18 & up) - Sliding scale according to ability to pay
$7.00 Students & Low Income
No charge for children (12 and under)
In a sliding scale you pick the amount. We expect that many people will elect $15, which is our break-even cost. Some persons will be able to pay more to help us subsidize children’s, low income and student tickets. We annually lose $$ on the dinner, but our goal is community-building, not fundraising. No one should stay home because of inability to pay - if you know someone who cannot afford a penny – tell us. We want them to be able to participate. The amount of the ticket over $15 is a tax-deductible contribution to the CKCPJ.
RESERVATIONS:
Act now. To reserve a ticket contact Richard Mitchell at (859) 327-6277. In Madison County contact Mary Ann Ghosal at (859) 626-7495. Deadline for reservations is Noon Thursday 3/4. When you contact us, please tell us how many persons will be in your party. Give us the name and age (if child) and how many of those would prefer a vegetarian or vegan soup. If you make reservations, you can pay at the door. Ticket can also be purchased ahead of time from CKCPJ Board members.

Program
This year's program is about peace studies. Two panels will introduce dinner attendees to peace studies initiatives at BCTC and UK.
Our evening will begin with a conversation featuring two faculty members from the long-standing Peace Studies program at BCTC. Michael Benton and Rebecca Glasscock will describe how the program developed and explore its importance to Central Kentucky, to the nation, and to the world. Former BCTC student Courtney Barlow and current student Joshua Sexton will share the ways that their peace studies have affected their lives.
A second panel will introduce UK's Peace House Living-Learning Community.. This exciting new project, now in its planning stages, is conceived as a residential student community at the University of Kentucky. It will be dedicated to the pursuit of peacemaking on campus, in the wider Lexington community, and on the international stage. This program builds on lessons learned at BCTC, on the hard work and dedication of Lexington’s progressive community, and on the tradition of interfaith dialogue within the city. The Peace House initiative will invite a cadre of domestic and international undergraduate students to reside in the Peace House for at least their first year of college and form the nucleus of the Peace House community. Plans include engaging an advisory group comprised of faculty, students, and community members. Annual themes for the program—for example, environmental stewardship or children's rights—will ensure focus and coherence in the program’s activities. Peace House panel members will include: Jim Wims, Director of Residential Life; Marianne Lorensen, Assistant Director of Residence Life; Peter Berres, Director of Student Affairs, and student leader Matt Longacre.
Richard Greissman, Assistant Provost at UK, will introduce the panels and moderate.
