The Lexington Pride Festival is taking place at a new location this year! We've outgrown Cheapside and have moved to the Courthouse Plaza Annex. Tons of vendors and booths in support of the GLBT community, A full schedule of on-stage entertainment throughout the day, and much more will be available this year. For updates and limited edition merchandise available only online, please check out our website at www.LexPride.com 

Please, no coolers or glass containers allowed in the Plaza and remember to clean up after your pets if you plan to bring them out with you. See you there!

The Festival will be a celebration of the gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, or transgendered community. Pride Festival activities will include: entertainment, booths, activities, speakers, food, and drinks.  Click here for additional information.

Who's playing? Nhojj, a neo-soul music artist from Guyana, takes the stage at 11 a.m. The video for his song Love reached No. 1 on the MTV Music Top 100 chart. Last year, Nhojj made OUTMusic Awards history when he became the first black male to win an OMA. Check out Gay Warrior Song at www.nhojj.com .

My Dear Disco, a band based in Ann-Arbor, Mich., will come to the main stage at 5 p.m. The group's MySpace profile, at www.myspace.com/mydeardisco , describes its debut recording, DanceThink LP, as a fusion of electro-pop, funk, rock and techno.

Other acts throughout the day include Spooky Os, 8-Inch Betsy, Critical Impact Cloggers and Lexington's own March Madness Marching Band.

Miscellaneous fun stuff: There will be a dunking booth and the final of the Pride Festival Idol. Contestants, who competed for a spot in the singing competition earlier this year, will croon their favorites for a chance at the crown.

Gospel Fest to Restore Voting Rights to Former Felons who have served their debt to society

Kentucky is one of the two most difficult states for a former felon to get their voting rights back in. 186,000 Kentuckians can’t vote because of these laws – including 1 in 4 African Americans.

We think that after someone has served their time, they should be given back their right to vote – because that’s the fair thing to do and because it make’s Kentucky’s Democracy stronger.  For more information, click here to go to KFTC's voter empowerment web pages.
