Witness a remarkable life journey, from a common man to a saint, in the production “Reluctant Saint”, based on the book of the same name by Donald Spoto.
Here is a Francis who transcends the cherished image of the peaceful lover of nature. Go behind the legend and discover a man who lived in a world much like our own, filled with violence and upheaval. A man who played many roles: wealthy lothario, soldier, businessman, preacher, defender of the poor and a rebel who never hesitated to speak the truth to the powerful.
Filmed entirely on location in Italy, this 60 min. production offers new insights into a life that has engaged the hearts and minds of millions over the centuries.
The Lexington-based Franciscan Peace Center is celebrating its 5th annual October FrancisFest with a 5-event “Pathways to Peace” series that embodies a variety of genres: live theatre, documentary film, dance, live presentations and discussions. All events are free and open to the public.
